Objective:
Under the terms of this agreement, the ARS will address the removal of bugs and additional support to make the DLL version of RUSLE2 fully functional to support the Manure Management Planner (MMP) and for use by NRCS as its water erosion calculation engine, (2) support the use of the NRCS Land Management Operations Database (LMOD) and National Soils Database, and (3) insert and maintain necessary code to support the new grazing subroutine in RUSLE2. The priority of the items will be set by Norman Widman, NRCS National Agronomist. These items will include efforts on the tasks listed below. Since many of these are on-going and the list cannot be completed in the time under the current agreement, the ARS agrees to follow the direction of the NRCS Giulio Ferruzzi, National Water Erosion Specialist Agreement Contact.

Approach:
Tasks to be Completed: a) Support the Manure Management Planner (MMP) team so that their program is compatible with the DLL version of RUSLE2. b) Correct bugs in the DLL version of RUSLE2 to allow the DLL version to be used as the NRCS water erosion calculator. c) Insert and maintain necessary code to support the new grazing subroutine in RUSLE2. d) Ensure the compatibility of RUSLE2 print templates with MsOffice. Tasks to be performed on a ongoing basis during the term of this agreement: a. Train the key NRCS personnel on database development e.g., developing vegetation databases. b. Provide technical support to NRCS throughout the term on this Agreement, including addressing any bugs or other problems with the RUSLE2 model. c. Keep the NRCS Responsible Person informed of any changes to RUSLE2 model. d. Provide support to the DLL version in NRCS’s efforts to make it capable of utilizing the NRCS Land Operations Management Database (LMOD) and National Soils Database data. e. Include a Soil Organic Matter subroutine and test across several areas nationwide if it provides satisfactory results. f. Develop the R2D-DLL for its use as part of CDSI erosion tool.
