Objective:
To develop high-yielding low phytic acid basmati rice in Pakistan.

Approach:
Alleles which impart the low phytic acid trait in rice will be isolated from mutagenized populations of Pakistani rices. Using conventional methods, these will be used to breed high yielding low phytic acid rices for production in Pakistan.
