Research Project: REDUCING NITRATE LOSSES FROM AGRICULTURAL FIELDS WITH SUBSURFACE DRAINAGE

Location: Agroecosystems Management Research Unit

Project Number: 3625-13000-010-13
Project Type: Specific Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jun 28, 2010
End Date: Apr 30, 2014

Objective:
The overall objective of this cooperative research project is to conduct research on the relationship among yield, drainage water quality, and anhydrous ammonia application timing.

Approach:
Observations will be collected from subplots located over individual tile drains within a production field to obtain data on yield and water quality response to management. Extensive observations will be made on the relationships between yield, crop growth, drain water quality, and fertilizer application timing.
