Research Project: DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES FOR VOMITOXIN (DON) IN WHEAT Project Number: 0500-00053-002-99

Objective:
Overarching objective of the U.S. Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative focuses on the development of plant gentics and mangement systems to reduce the incidence of scab. The objectives of this proposal are to provide mycotoxin analyses on new varieties and processed food.

Approach:
The Department of Veterinary Diagnostic Services at NDSU will provide vomitoxon (deoxynivalenol or DON) analyses on approximately 11,000 wheat samples/year for about 25 scientists from central USA.
