Develop specific molecular-based initiatives that will be used to support the USDA’s Strategic Management Plan for Old World Bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera).

Genomics resources developed at Southern Insect Management Research Unit will be used to develop molecular assays based on high-throughput sequencing techniques and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays based on monoclonal antibodies to identify invasive Helicoverpa armigera and hybrids progeny with Helicoverpa zea.
