Objective:
The objective will be to 1) implement the selected plans for the replacement of the National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference (SR) and the Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies (FNDDS); 2) expand the capabilities for data submission, information and accessibility; 3) link to external, food-related databases, as recommended by the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center (BHNRC).
Approach:
Together with the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center (BHNRC) Director, Research Leaders of the National Database Laboratory, the Food Systems Research Group and the Food Composition and Methods Development Laboratory and designed staff, the Project manager will analyze the needs of the users and the software requirements and oversee the work to design develop, test, install and configure the new system. This will be followed by the transition from the current system to the new system, including the transfer of existing data.
