Research Project: HIGH RESOLUTION PHENOTYPING OF TIFRUNNER X GT-C20 RIL POPULATION

Location: Crop Genetics and Breeding Research

Project Number: 6602-21000-022-09
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Aug 22, 2012
End Date: Dec 31, 2013

Objective:
Perform high resolution phenotyping and mapping of the following genetic traits in Tifrunner x GT-C20 recombinant inbred line (RIL) populations and Collaborative Agricultural Projects (CAPS) parental lines: 1) tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) resistance; 2) seed dormancy; 3) time to maturity; 4) flowering on the main stem; 5) growth habit; 6) seed and pod traits; and 7) total oil content.

Approach:
A recombinant inbred line (RIL) populations will be genotyped and phenotyped. Data will be analyzed to attempt to develop molecular markers for resistance to tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), and other economically important traits in peanut.
