This NFCA is to formalize and expand the long-time relationship between the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center (BHNRC) and Bowie State University (BSU), which share an interest in research and education, human nutrition, agriculture and related fields. The two institutions have different, but complementary research expertise and facilities, and their geographic proximity makes it feasible both for BHNRC scientists to participate in BSU graduate and undergraduate programs, and for BSU individuals enrolled in those programs to conduct research and/or receive training in BHNRC labs. By pooling their strengths and collaborating closely through this NFCA, BHNRC and BSU seek to build a leading center for agricultural, environmental, and natural resources research that will enhance training and/or research opportunities for BHNRC professional staff and researchers and BSU faculty and students.
