Post-Doctor Training and Research on Screening for Inhibiting Fungal Infection and Aflatoxin Production in Peanut and Other Crop
Food and Feed Safety Research
2013 Annual Report
1a.Objectives (from AD-416):
Host and train post-doctors who have their own funding to perform cooperative research on screening for peanut or other crop varieties or germplasm lines for inhibiting fungal growth, infection, and mycotoxin production, especially aflatoxins, to achieve the objectives of food and feed safety.
1b.Approach (from AD-416):
The Post-doctor Training Center will recommend their top candidates for selection by USDA-ARS to work at either ARS facility or Cooperator facility within the scope of USDA-ARS research project plan. Screening, testing, and biological analysis can be performed at locations of either party. Molecular genetics and genomics studies will mostly be performed at USDA-ARS facility.
There has been no progress in this agreement because it was established very recently and efforts are being made for exchange of scientific personnel.
