Research Project: MEASURING AIR QUALITY IN THE CHESAPEAKE BAY REGION AT THE AGRICULTURE-URBAN INTERFACE

Objective:
Measure ambient concentrations of atmospheric components at the agriculture-urban interface of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Results will be used to discern the fate and transport of agriculturally-related pollutants and their effects on air quality.

Approach:
Measure atmospheric components at the agriculture-urban interface at one location in Beltsville, Maryland. Samples will usually be collected weekly or bi-weekly throughout the year. Samples will include particulate matter and semi-volatile and volatile organic compounds.
