2012 Annual Report 1a.Objectives (from AD-416): Assess supply chain structure and interactions among institutions to identify and overcome barriers to successfully implementing an oilseed to hydrotreated renewable jet (HRJ) fuel industry. 1b.Approach (from AD-416): Relationships between actors in the oilseed to biofuel value chain will be mapped as they develop. An Appreciative Inquiry approach will be used to monitor, assess, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the oilseed to jet fuel value chain using techniques developed for phone-based focus groups. The method will include bringing actors together on a regular basis for updates on what is working and how to build on the positive approach. 3.Progress Report: A roundtable discussion was conducted with stakeholders from the region to identify current and historical oilseed production efforts, existing attitudes and knowledge about biofuel feedstock production, opportunities and pitfalls for expanding biofuel feedstock production, and stakeholder and customer needs to advance oilseed production. This provided initial information needed for supply chain social networks assessment including key actors in the value chain and linkages among these actors.
