Research Project: HIGH-IMPACT RESEARCH FOR SOYBEAN IMPROVEMENT USING GENETICS AND GENOMICS - GEORGIA

Location: Corn Insects and Crop Genetics Research

Project Number: 3625-21220-004-39
Project Type: Specific Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Mar 16, 2012
End Date: Aug 31, 2014

Objective:
1) Generate DNA sequence from 41 parents of a Nested Association Mapping population and selected RILs of NAM population 10, 2) Generate DNA sequence from 25 ancestral soybean lines, 3) Generate DNA sequence from 60 milestone cultivars representing 80 years of soybean improvement, and 4) Generate RNASeq data on two NAM parents and selected RILs of the NAM population 10.

Approach:
Biological tissue will be collected by ARS and DNA/RNA will be provided to the collaborator. DNA resequencing will be conducted to a depth of 5X coverage on all genotypes except select ancestral lines where deeper coverage may be required. RNASeq data will be generated on high and low yielding RIL lines of NAM population 10. DNA and RNA sequence information will be provided by the collaborator to ARS.
