1a.Objectives (from AD-416):
To evaluate the efficacy of a novel chemistry of pour-on acaricide for controlling cattle fever ticks, Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus and R. (B.) annulatus, and lone star ticks, Amblyomma americanum.
1b.Approach (from AD-416):
Conduct bioassays, specifically larval packet tests, to evaluate the potential of the novel pour-on acaricide formulation for controlling ticks on cattle and white-tailed deer.
An acaricide with a novel chemistry has been provided by the cooperator company, and larval packet tests to evaluate the efficacy of various concentrations of the novel acaricide against lone star ticks and susceptible and resistant cattle fever ticks have been completed. Data will be published at a future date when the cooperator company has completed further evaluations on other arthropods and gives permission for release of the data for publication.
