Location: Forage and Livestock Production Unit

2012 Annual Report

1a.Objectives (from AD-416):
Develop decision support tools and technology transfer information to communicate forage-grazing agroecosystem research findings to agricultural and natural resource planners and managers.

1b.Approach (from AD-416):
The focus of this collaboration will be to develop a framework that will help formulate agroecosystem management questions into testable hypotheses; develop relevant climate, management, and economic scenarios; and synthesize information and knowledge from past and future research to inform decision making, specifically: a. Identify decision maker (e.g., land owners, resource planners and managers) key needs and priorities. b. Identify climate variations at multiple scales that must be addressed by managers. c. Identify management and economic scenarios of interest to decision makers. d. Synthesize research findings and knowledge base into decision support framework. e. Work with producer and resource planner collaborators to test the decision framework.

3.Progress Report:

There has been no progress on this agreement because an IT person is an integral part of the work on this SCA and that position is still vacant.
