Research Project: USDA – ARS COOPERATION WITH RUSSIA ON AQUACULTURE EPIZOOTICS Project Number: 0210-22310-004-45

Objective:
Under this agreement, ARS will host a workshop in the U.S. to include U.S. and Russian aquaculture specialists to discuss potential areas for cooperation and also visit key U.S. labs that could be involved in future research projects.

Approach:
The Office of International Research Programs (OIRP) of ARS in coordination with Animal Production and Protection staff will develop the workshop agenda, and the overall itinerary for the workshop participants to include site visits to U.S. labs. The workshop is being supported under the U.S. – Russia Ag Working Group recognizing that both countries need improved monitoring/surveillance, reference laboratories for world animal health (OIE), research and diagnostic facilities and dedicated funding to support research cooperation.
