Objective:
This symposium plans to highlight the most promising research in the pipeline, and showcase novel strategies that can replace and/or reduce classical broad range antibiotic use in animal feed to promote growth or improve animal health and well-being. The end-result of this symposium will be scientific publications and recommendations that will advance strategies to reduce and/or replace antibiotic use in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture.

Approach:
Provide support for the proceedings from the International Symposium on Alternatives to Antibiotics: Challenges and Solutions to be held September 26-28, 2012 at the OIE Headquarters, Paris, France. (ADODR: Gay)
