Research Project: CONTINUATION OF GRACENET STUDY IN PRESQUE ISLE, ME

Objective:
Continued analyses of greenhouse gases from potato production in cool humid climate in Northeast U.S. emphasizing Business as Usual and C sequestration field treatment strategies.

Approach:
A subset of plots of the Maine Potato Ecosystem Project will be used to measure fluxes of N2O and CO2 10 times during the growing season following the GRACENet protocols. The Maine Potato Ecosystem Project is a long-term study that was initiated at the Aroostook Research Farm in Presque Isle, Maine to examine the effects of different management systems on the productivity and economic viability of potato production.
