Research Project: DEVELOPMENT OF A HONEYSWEET PLUM EUROPEAN UNION (EU) DEREGULATION DOSSIER

Objective:
The objective of this project is to support the development of a data package by European scientists for the deregulation of 'HoneySweet' plum in the European Union (EU).

Approach:
The cooperator will: 1) provide expertise on regulatory issues related to the approval of genetically engineered crops in the EU; 2) provide documents and other support materials to in-house scientists and their European counterparts that will aid in the development of data packages specific to the regulatory requirements of the EU; and 3) assist in the organization of meetings and participate in meetings between U.S. and EU researchers aimed at developing the data necessary for an EU deregulation dossier for 'HoneySweet' plum.
