Research Project: CLIMATE CHANGE, MITIGATION, AND ADAPTATION IN CORN-BASED CROPPING SYSTEMS Project Number: 3605-13000-004-11
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Mar 01, 2011
End Date: Jan 12, 2012

Objective:
To determine the effects of climate change on corn production in the Midwest.

Approach:
NAEW will reinstrument one set of lysimeters, and collect runoff and water quality data from several watersheds under a corn-soybean-cover crop-buffer system. The data will be part of a large midwestern monitoring system that will evaluate novel production systems and climate change impacts. The NAEW provide runoff, erosion, water quality, ground-water recharge, and evapotranspiration data unavailable anywhere else among midwest project locations.
