Location: Beneficial Insects Introduction Research
|
2011 Annual Report
1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
Study emerald ash borers and associated parasitoids.
1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Ash logs and/or other plant and insect samples will be collected, stored, and sampled to investigate the biology and behavior of the emerald ash borer and associated parasitoids.
3.Progress Report
We are working cooperatively with Maryland Department of Agriculture staff on parasitoid releases, recovery, and sampling procedures for assessing the establishment and impact of released biocontrol agents on Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) populations in Maryland. We assisted in the development of sampling procedures to assess the establishment and impact of released biocontrol agents against EAB populations in Maryland. Maryland Department of Agriculture staff have helped us to collect, store, and sample EAB infested ash logs for recovery of EAB adults and associated parasitoids. We communicate regularly via email, phone call, and face-to-face meetings.
