Provide technology transfer for project determination of sustainable vineyard water management practices for limited and impaired water supplies.

The objectives will be met with the publication of newesletters, Extension Bulletins; Web based publications, revision of extension publications.
This is a progress report that contributes to meeting objective 2 “Develop sustainable water management strategies for perennial horticultural crops with limited and impaired water supplies” of the parent project. An important component of research is the transfer of results to the end user and acceptance by users. This project provides opportunities to transfer the results of this research to the user community, growers, researchers and commodity groups. An essential component of the research was to transfer this technology and research results from the remaining deliverables of the larger SCRI-Specialty Crop Research Initiative project to the agricultural community. This was done through a series of presentations given to clientele relating to vineyard water and salinity management. These were given at a number of venues during the period 10/1/12 to 6/30/13:

4/3/13 - Vineyard irrigation and salinity update – Water Resources Advisory Council, San Luis Obispo
4/18/13 – Vineyard irrigation and salinity update – Groundwater Advisory Committee
6/26/13 – Crop coefficients – American Society for Enology and Viticulture Annual Meeting, Monterey
6/27/13 – Soil Salinity Survey - American Society for Enology and Viticulture Annual Meeting, Monterey
The grape growing community will realize the benefits of improved water management as a result of the aforementioned research and related research from the co-investigators of the SCRI project.
