Research Project: SOYBEAN RAFFINOSE FAMILY OF OLIGOSACCHARIDES ENVIRONMENTAL STABILITY STUDY

Location: Plant Genetics Research

Project Number: 3622-21000-032-04
Project Type: Reimbursable

Start Date: Apr 01, 2011
End Date: Mar 31, 2012

Objective:
Conduct environmental stability study on soybean genotypes containing distinct oligosaccharide profiles.

Approach:
Selected soybean genotypes have been developed with characteristic oligosaccharide profiles. Seeds from those genotypes will be increased and subjected to an environmental stability study conducted at six locations in the state of Missouri. Harvested seeds will be phenotyped and an HPLC analysis performed for the correlations of environmental factors with differences in oligosaccharide profiles.
