Research Project: KRAFT-NABISCO SOFT WHITE WHEAT QUALITY

2011 Annual Report


1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
Evaluate PNW Soft White Wheat for end-use suitability for Kraft-Nabisco.


1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Perform complete milling and baking analysis of soft white spring and winter wheat varieties and advanced breeding lines from two Washington locations. Documents Trust with Kraft. Log 39423. Formerly 5348-43440-005-07T (12/10).


3.Progress Report

The Trust involves mostly proprietary information with the cooperator concerning the evaluation of end-use quality of soft white wheat varieties. All wheat samples were obtained and milling and baking analyses were completed; analysis and report were provided to the cooperator. Periodic progress reports are provided to the cooperator via phone and e-mail for review; annual financial contribution monitored on Cooperator’s and ARS’s behalf; budget activity and expenditures monitored on ARS’s behalf.
