Research Project: SYSTEMS BIOLOGY ON THE BARLEY-FUSARIUM INTERACTION Project Number: 0500-00053-003-28
Project Type: Grant

Start Date: Apr 13, 2010
End Date: Apr 12, 2012

Objective:
Discover essential plant genes to control scab.

Approach:
Obtain mRNA samples from inoculated heads at fiver different time points. Sequence the stranded mRNA with the Solexa/Illumina Genome Sequencer. Assemble the sequence to unique contigs by aligning to barley/wheat EST sequences of rice/sorghum/maize gene set. Quantitatively analyze the expressed sequence by counting the sequence number and finalize the differentially expressed sequence set under different comparisons. Functionally categorize the differentially expressed sequence set through different pathways.
