Research Project:
COUPLING HIGH-THROUHPUT GENETIC AND PHENOTYPIC INFORMATION FOR YIELD ENHANCEMENT
Location: Crop Genetics Research Unit
Project Number: 6402-21220-010-11
Project Type:
Reimbursable
Start Date: Apr 01, 2009
End Date: Mar 31, 2011
Objective:
The overall objective of this research is to develop protocols and methods for field-based high-throughput plant stress phenotyping. The specific ARS objectives are to genotype soybean accessions with molecular markers, produce high quality seed and assist in interpreting data.
Approach:
Isolate DNA from approximately 400 soybean accessions and then apply approximately 50 SSR and 50 SNP markers to each accession. Analyze marker data with emphasis on clustering. Increase seed of accessions as needed. Guide the project and interpret data.
