Research Project:
THE DEVELOPMENT OF BREEDING POPULATIONS IN COTTON THROUGH RANDOM MATING
Location: Genetics and Precision Agriculture Research
Project Number: 6406-21000-012-32
Project Type:
Reimbursable
Start Date: Jan 01, 2010
End Date: Dec 31, 2010
Objective:
Linkage disequilibrium study on parents and C5 cycles of random mating using molecular markers. Marker data on parental lines have been completed. Development of recombinant inbred lines from half-sib families in the random mating.
Approach:
Winter nursery will be utilized to increase seed of RIL to produce about one pound of selfed seed from each half-sib family. Seed will be planted for agronomic and fiber performance in a field environment.
