Research Project: Methyl bromide alternatives for weed and disease control in strawberry production

1a.Objectives (from AD-416):
Develop alternatives to methyl bromide for the control of soilborne diseases of strawberry.


1b.Approach (from AD-416):
Field research to elucidate ecological, plant disease and weed dynamics in strawberry production.


3.Progress Report:

The agreement was established in support of objective 1 of the in house project, the goal being to optimize delivery and evaluate performance of chemical, cultural, biological, and genetic alternatives to methyl bromide for crops/pathogen combinations currently benefiting from the use of methyl bromide. Field trials are currently in progress evaluating alternatives to methyl bromide with the data available later in the year.
