Research Project: Methyl bromide alternatives for weed and disease control in strawberry production

Develop alternatives to methyl bromide for the control of soilborne diseases of strawberry.


1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Field research to elucidate ecological, plant disease and weed dynamics in strawberry production. Documents NFCA with UC Davis. Replaces 5305-22000-012-09N (6/09).


3.Progress Report

Research on alternatives to methyl bromide for soil fumigation in strawberry, vegetable and floral industries including application technologies, weed management and disease control were conducted by scientists from the U.S. Agricultural Research Station, Salinas, CA in collaboration with the University of California, Davis located in Salinas. Communication on the project status is done with the granting agency by e-mail, personal conversations and submission of written yearly progress reports to the University of California.
