1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
Develop iceberg, romaine, and leaf lettuce cultivars with resistance to bolting, tipburn, powdery mildew, big vein and extended shelf-life.
1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Field, greenhouse, laboratory, and molecular marker experiments to develop and select lettuce lines with improved performance for fall, winter, and spring planting slots in Arizona. Documents Reimbursable with AZ Department of Agriculture. Log 39504.
No progress was made on this project, as the final agreement was not signed until April 20, 2010. This is past the field season for Arizona, the location of the research. The ADODR would have monitored activities through site visits and quarterly written reports. The accomplishments would have aligned with National Program 301 component 3, and address problem statement 3C.
