Research Project: COOPERATION BETWEEN USDA, ARS MANAGED NATIONAL PLANT GERMPLASM SYSTEM AND UKRAINE, NATIONAL CENTER FOR PLANT GENETIC RESOURCES

2010 Annual Report


1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
The objective of this cooperative research program is to maintain long-term collaboration in the collection, maintenance, evaluation, distribution, enhancement, utilization and preservation of cultivated and indigenous plant genetic resources.


1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Either party will develop project proposals that would support one or more of the above objective actions and present it to the other party for consideration as a collaborative project under this agreement. Specific approaches and methods of implementation of all selected projects, including funding arrangements will be agreed upon by both parties. Selected and funded projects will be implemented as planned.


3.Progress Report

Activities in FY 2010 continued the collaboration in Ukraine resulting from the 2008 joint Ukraine, U.S., and Russian plant collection for Medicago and other forage legumes. All activities within this agreement were monitored by e-mail.
