2010 Annual Report
Research continued to develop low linolenic acid soybean germplasm in three different maturity groups. All three maturity groups now have the desired genes introgressed into 75% of the recurrent parent genome. The second low linolenic gene combination is being advanced as 50% of the maturity group III recurrent parent genome only due to earlier problems with crossing. All lines are stable for the desired genes controlling the low linolenic acid trait and are currently undergoing agronomic selection to identify potential lines for germplasm release.
Monitoring activities included email exchange of information and results in quarterly reports, and participation in the United Soybean Board Soybean Seed Composition Workshop in February in St. Louis, Missouri.
