1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
Identify genes controlling beta glucan content in oat.

Association mapping in elite varieties.


3.Progress Report

This is the first year of this project. We isolated DNA from more than 200 oat lines from public breeding programs in the U.S. and Canada and genotyped these lines using RAPD markers. These lines will be produced in the field this year and evaluated for beta glucan content.
