Objective:
This project will document the insect herbivores of Australian Cauarinaceae (sheoaks) and generate information on host assocations and geographic distribution by exploration for biological control agents of Casuarina species.

Approach:
Phylogentic analysis using multiple genes will be undertaken for key insect groups and the extent of their co-evolutionary relationships with host plants determined, with a view to refining protocols for selecting potential biocontrol agents.
