Research Project:
SOYBEAN GENES RESISTANCE TO DISEASES
Location: Soybean/maize Germplasm, Pathology, and Genetics Research
|
2010 Annual Report
1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
To identify genes in soybean that are involved in resistance to disease.
1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Using gene expression biotechnologies such as cDNA and oligo microarrays as well as small RNA sequencing to identify disease-resistant genes in soybean.
3.Progress Report
We performed gene expression studies on leaves infected with Sclerotinia, and leaves infiltratrated with oxalic acid. We also summarized data on the expression of smRNA from infected stem and leaf tissue. Activities of this project are monitored through personal meetings, phone calls and e-mails.
