Location: Sugarcane Production Research

Project Number: 6625-22000-010-02
Project Type: Nonfunded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Dec 04, 2006
End Date: Dec 04, 2011

Objective:
The objective of this cooperative research project is to improve the efficiency, development, and testing of new sugarcane varieties through exchange and evaluation of germplasm with the ultimate goal of releasing new, higher-yielding disease-resistant sugarcane varieties.

Approach:
ARS and the Cooperator will exchange seed (Fuzz), experimental lines, and/or new varieties (Material) for use in the their respective breeding programs and/or for testing and evaluation for specific traits of interest and/or as commercial cultivars.
