Progress and Outcomes:
This report serves to document research conducted under a specific cooperative agreement between ARS and the University of Florida, Tropical Research and Education Center. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the parent CRIS 6631-22000-003-00D Protection of Subtropical & Tropical Agriculture Commodities & Ornamentals from Exotic Insects. Studies have been initiated on biological control of invasive homopteran pests of ornamental plants that have recently become established in and are spreading throughout south Florida. As part of this research, laboratory colonies of the pest are being established and research on basic biology of the pest as well as effect of parasitoids and hyperparasitoids in homeowner and commercial plantings is ongoing.
