Expected Outcomes

  • Recommended priority areas for ARS-wide research on air quality and global change issues of concern to agriculture.
  • Made recommendations regarding the Action Plan for the Air Quality and Global Change Components of the Soil and Air Resources Management National Program   over the next five years (including what efforts ARS should not do or de-emphasize)
  • Identified synergies and linkages between the ARS Soil and Air Resources Management National Program research on air quality and global change and other National Programs within ARS
  • Considered the Agency’s resource constraints and suggested ARS research that would most likely compliment research supported by other Federal agencies and the private sector
  • Recommended opportunities for improved cooperation and technology transfer between ARS and the private sector and between ARS and other government agencies
