Title: Three New Insect Cell Lines for Producing Baculoviruses
See also: US Patent Office Full Record

Patent Number: 6379958
Docket Number: 15399
Serial Number: 9577148
Date Patented: 04/30/2002

Technology Description:

The invention relates to three new insect cell lines that when infected with baculovirus produce large quantities of baculovirus useful for insect pest control. Additionally, large quantities of baculovirus infected with recombinant baculovirus yields large quantities of expressed functional protein. Compared to presently available technology, these cloned cell lines economically produce high yields of baculovirus and large quantities of recombinant proteins, and can grow in serum free medium.
