Research at the Coastal Plains Soil, Water, and Plant Research Center

The mission of the Coastal Plains Soil, Water, and Plant Research Center is to anticipate and solve problems that agriculture on the south east coastal plain faces and to mitigate harmful impacts on air, water and soil. The Lab works on to improve both livestock production and crop production such as cotton.

For example, researchers at the Center have recently developed a manure management system that reduces odors and protects water quality. The system has already been adopted in North Carolina
