The mission of the Knipling-Bushland U.S. Livestock Insects Research Laboratory is to develop novel, integrated management techniques to control or mitigate livestock arthropod pests, including tools that extend well beyond the use of traditional pesticides. Research in Kerrville, TX and worksites in Edinburg, TX and Pacora, Panama supports two significant eradication programs, cattle fever ticks and New World screwworm, as well as combating other blood feeding flies and invasive ticks of economic importance to US cattle producers.
