Maureen Wright

Maureen Wright

Maureen Wright is employed as a Research Microbiologist in the Formosan Subterranean Termite Research Unit. She earned a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Xavier University of Louisiana, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Department of Microbiology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

Dr. Wright served as a postdoctoral research scientist at the USDA's Southern Regional Research Center (SRRC). She was subsequently hired as a Research Geneticist at the SRRC and was conducting research on gene regulation in fungi when she joined the Formosan Subterranean Termite Research Unit at its inception. Dr. Wright currently develops biological control agents, and has had success developing the genera Paecilomyces and Metarhizium for use against termites.
