Jeffry J. Stone (Jeff)

Research Hydrologist

JEFFRY J. STONE

Jeffry Stone received a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from UCLA in 1974 and a PhD in Watershed Hydrology from the University of Arizona in 1990. He began working with the SWRC in 1980 as a research associate through the University of Arizona. He became an ARS scientist in 1995. His primary research areas are rangeland hydrology and erosion. He was part of the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) Model development team, WEPP rangeland field experiment, and Multiobjective Decision Support System for Water Quality team.

He is currently collaborating with scientists in Mexico to evaluate the effect of management systems on runoff and erosion on rangelands and collaborating with NRCS in Arizona to evaluate the hydrologic and erosion response of Ecological Sites in southeastern Arizona.
