JAMES R. RIGBY (JR)

Research Hydrologist

The primary focus of Dr. James Rigby’s research program is surface-groundwater interactions and water resources in the Lower Mississippi River Basin including the hydraulic connections of alluvial streams such as the Sunflower and Tallahatchie Rivers with the underlying aquifer, regional characterization of aquifer isotopic composition, exploratory work on artificial recharge scenarios by direct well injection, the development of simplified mathematical models relevant to agriculture including the dynamics of water-controlled agro-ecosystems and surface controls on the initiation of convective precipitation.
