Biography and Research Interests

Marilyn seeks to identify and use natural allelic diversity in crop plants to improve biotic and abiotic stress resistance and nutritional quality. Currently, she works to identify and validate genetic sequences associated with resistance to the toxin producing fungus Aspergillus flavus.

 

Outside Interests

Marilyn feels like one of the truly lucky people in this world who is paid to do things that are so fun and interesting she would do them as a hobby. Nevertheless, she does unwind from work with activities such as working with the Boy Scouts, spending time with friends and family, especially her two sons, and outdoor activities whenever possible.
