Dr. Jackson is currently doing research on interactions of lepidopteran pests with insecticides, whether conventional or transgenic. Bt cotton and corn are being evaluated for their effects on the biology and ecology of lepidopteran pests, particularly bollworm and tobacco budworm.
Information is being generated on resistance evolution in heliothines to conventional insecticides. Also, the impact of insecticide-resistant heliothines on current and new Bt technologies are being evaluated to provide data for resistant management strategies.
