Yanmin Zhu

Molecular Biologist (Plants)

Research Program

Research objectives in Dr. Zhu’s lab include: 1) molecular characterization of fruit maturation, ripening and senescence processes; 2) elucidating mechanisms involved in the development of desirable traits regarding nutrition, texture, flavor and aroma;  and 3) identification of genetic factors which control the development of the fruit storage disorders.  To achieve these goals, a variety of research approaches including plant physiology, molecular biology, molecular genetics, functional genomics, biochemistry and bioinformatics will be used.
