Specific research objectives include:
To better understand, analyze, and quantify subsurface flow processes
from the pore to field to watershed scales that contribute to soil erosion.
Specific interests are to quantify the subsurface flow processes governing
the initiation, development and migration of ephemeral gullies, evaluate
the effect of conservation management practices on infiltration and erosion;
assess the impact of ephemeral gully erosion of soil properties; quantify
seepage and effective stress relations on stream bank erosion and gully
erosion; and to develop and evaluate models for describing and methods
of controlling subsurface flow induced erosion processes.
