Biographical Information:
Tom conducts research to improve reproductive efficiency in beef cattle. The goal of this research is to identify tools to improve calving distribution management. Research includes factors affecting postpartum anestrus recovery, pubertal transition, and pregnancy establishment and maintenance early in the breeding season. This research also focuses on understanding early embryonic loss and applications that minimize these losses. Collaborative research includes collection of various phenotypic traits involved in fertility of both bulls and cows to lead toward gene discovery of fertility markers. |
