Proteolytic enzymes in nematodes
headline bar

Dr. Masler's interest in the proteolytic enzymes in nematodes

Specific proteolytic enzymes involved with the regulation of peptide levels are being examined as potential targets to control nematodes. Inhibitors can be highly specific, thus having no effect beyond the target nematode. Genes for proteolytic enzymes that may be involved in peptide synthesis and hatching have been isolated, and  proteolytic enzymes that destroy specific peptides are being characterized.
