The Everglades
A huge marsh rich in
wildlife, the 'Glades covers about 4,000 square miles in south Florida. About
2,400 square miles are in Everglades National Park, the largest national park
east of the Rocky Mountains. The Everglades is home to the largest subtropical
wilderness on the U.S. mainland.
And--be careful when
you dangle your feet in the water--nowhere else in the world do alligators and
crocodiles exist side by side!
